Milkvilla grew out of a family dairy in Rampur village near Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Brothers Mannu Jee and Aman Jee grew up watching good milk lost to curdling and poor handling. Mannu became a marine engineer in the merchant navy, where he saw how cold chains keep perishable cargo fresh; Aman studied electrical engineering at IIT Patna. Mannu left a ₹3.5 lakh-a-month job at sea to come home and build Milkvilla with Aman.
Their first product was technology: an app-controlled, Bluetooth-enabled milk dispenser on a cart, designed and built in-house by Aman. It grew into our Milk Management System, now protected by an Indian patent (no. 597197, granted July 2026). The customer orders on the Milkvilla app and the cart pours the exact quantity straight into the customer's own vessel, with no plastic packet. The first delivery went out in Muzaffarpur in August 2020, and from September 2020 milk has been bought directly from village farmers, tested and chilled the same day.
From 2022 the carts also served Patna, and franchise partners piloted them in Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh and Odisha. In July 2024 Milkvilla opened its own hub in Bengaluru: A2 milk from desi cows on Karnataka farms, chilled to 4°C and tested, delivered by electric vehicles in reusable steel cans within about 12 hours of milking.
Today Milkvilla serves about 5,900 households a month (September 2026), 2,300 of them in Muzaffarpur, with revenue of ₹98.9 lakh in September and positive EBITDA in every month of 2026-27 so far. The ₹30 crore plan takes the Bengaluru model to ten hubs across the city.

Raw milk is never boiled or processed in a plant, so it is only as good as every hour and every degree between the cow and the customer. So we built a new, scalable supply chain for it ourselves, every step from the village to the doorstep, together with the software that runs it.
We collect milk at each farmer's home, and every farmer's milk is tested on the spot for fat and SNF, even if it is just one litre. It is priced on a rate chart and paid straight into the farmer's bank account.
Milk is chilled to 4°C within minutes at cooling points near the villages, so it stays fresh without any processing.
Tested for fat, SNF, adulterants and antibiotics before it leaves, with daily micro testing.
Insulated tankers carry the milk overnight to our Bengaluru hub, temperature-monitored the whole way.
At the hub the milk is stored in chillers until it is loaded into our proprietary milk delivery vans.
Our electric vans carry our app-controlled dispenser, part of our patented Milk Management System. At the customer's doorstep the milk is dispensed into a reusable steel can and delivered as good as fresh, within about 12 hours of milking. Deliveries run in morning and evening slots, so customers pick the time that suits them; no plastic touches the milk at any stage.
Customers order, pause and pay in the Milkvilla app. Weekly ratings and WhatsApp support close the loop: an AI assistant answers first and hands over to our team whenever a person is needed.

Most of the drop-off happens in the first three months, as families try us. Those who stay become steady, daily customers who take more milk over time, so almost half of today's revenue comes from households that have been with us for over a year. Bengaluru and Muzaffarpur follow almost the same curve, two very different cities, which is why we expect new hubs to behave the same way.
In Bihar, Milkvilla buys milk directly from smallholder farmers around Muzaffarpur, collected at their homes. Since September 2020, 2,110 farmers there have supplied 32.7 lakh litres and been paid ₹13 crore; every farmer's milk is tested for fat and SNF on the spot, even a single litre, and paid on a rate chart straight into a bank account. In Karnataka, Bengaluru's milk comes from 49 farmer suppliers (September 2026).
Across Bihar and Karnataka, 2,350 farmers have supplied Milkvilla since 2020 and been paid more than ₹21 crore. In September 2026, 357 farmers supplied 1.31 lakh litres and were paid ₹56.4 lakh, an average of ₹43.12 a litre. About 39% of them (138) are registered in a woman's name or are paid into a woman's bank account (estimated from names).
